DC’s feedback on Training School 3

The Training School 3 (TS3), held from May 12-18, 2024, in Milan, Italy, brought together a vibrant community of researchers and practitioners to explore the intersections of design, technology, and dementia care. Politecnico di Milano organised the event, which featured workshops, presentations, and interactive sessions to foster innovation in dementia care across Europe.

Feedback from the doctoral candidates (DC) highlighted the event's success in providing new perspectives and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Alicia, a DC from the US, found the exposure to different healthcare systems particularly enlightening. Vamsi appreciated the opportunity to integrate design principles into his research on dementia. At the same time, Sunny and Ajda valued the practical insights from the visits and discussions on robotics in care.

TS3's structured yet dynamic agenda, including sessions on professional home care and policy-making, ensured a comprehensive learning experience. In summary, through interdisciplinary learning and international collaboration, TS3 leaves a lasting impact on the HOMEDEM network.
